The Mycenaean Artifacts of Crete
In the 1200s BC, everything in the ancient Mediterranean seemed to fall apart at once. This period is known as the Bronze Age Collapse. It's during this time that people in Eastern Crete fled to the mountains,. building more than 80 peak sanctuaries and withdrawing from the coasts entirely. The village that we're going to focus on is one called Carfi, which is one of the ancient peak sanctuary villages.
