Paul and the Church on Missionary Journeys

In the first part of the letter, chapters one through seven, Paul is like, hey, great, we're making progress. He points to the example of Christ and the suffering of Christ. And in so many words, he's saying, I'm following the template. This suffering is a badge of honor, not a mark of the punishment of God.
