Mass Effect Spoilers - The Indian
The indian was a fairly infamous example of stories seeming to trip the finished line, often the point of enraging their audience. A critical bit of our story line for mass effect spoils coming, is that the protagonist, commander sheperd, is pretty heavily sibonetic. And there's lots of alien races with lots of sibonetics, but only one machine race, the geth and frequently the minions of the story line's mysterious bigbads, the repers. It becomes increasingly clear the repers are some horrible mis mash of organic and artificial into some terrifying synthesis.
