What Is This That You Are Doing for the People?

Jethro, Moses's father-in-law, offered a burnt offering and sacrifices to God. Aaron came with all the elders of Israel to eat bread with Jethro before God. The next day when Moses sat to judge the people, he was asked why he did it alone. He said because the people come to me to inquire of God; I decide between man and his neighbor. Then Moses chose able men out of all Israel as rulers over the people. Hard cases they brought to Moses, but any small matter they decided themselves.
