The Weight of Electric Vehicles in the UK

The RAC Foundation has taken 13 popular car models sold in the UK that have electric vehicle equivalents and compared weights. They used what's known as the curb weight for this, which is the total weight of a vehicle along with all standard equipment, fluids and fuel. Doing the sums, they've calculated that this basket, if you like, of electric vehicles is about 17% heavier than the equivalent petrol or diesel cars. But this is an average and there are some big variations within the list.
