The Role of Universities in Moral Philosophy
In the 15th and 16th centuries, there was a continuation of engagement with Aristotle's writings. People are writing commentaries on these works as well as writing compendia of them. And is that something they would have been doing in a university setting usually? They often did. Universities were a very important place because universities taught moral philosophy.
