Is There a Bias in AI?

I think in the case of AI there are a bunch of biases pointing different directions. It's hard to cash out what we should expect the net effect of these biases to be but I agree with you that they're at work. And this is one reason why it's useful to try to be explicit about our models though. Sometimes that does actually lead to people, you know, changing their minds or realizing like huh I guess I never really thought about why I believe XYZ are like huh, I always assumed there were good reasons for such and such but now that I'm thinking about it I don't see what's strong etc.
