The Grand Mosque of Jene in Mali

The city of Jene in southern Mali is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with its 200 mud homes and central mud built mosque. Nabil says Timbuktu was an important cultural and academic hub of the 13th century with its impressive university and library also a mud built structure that is still standing today.
