There is a sense that even for over the past six years, it's been thrashing against a wall that refused to budge. It's almost like these different groups are now exhausted and there's no longer the will or the energy to try. And the world as it was is trying to reassert itself and claim victory. But this is why people get angry and there is this slightly conspiratorial atmosphere around this.
