Last week the competition commission of India slapped massive penalties on two companies that you know very well. Make My Trip private limited and Oyo were fined 223 crores and 169 crores respectively. The story dates back to 2019 when FHRAI or the Federation of Hotel and Resitrance Association of India, Trebo and Fab Hotels took Make My Trip Go to the CCI. They accused Make My Trip of colluding with Oyo abusing their dominance and controlling prices in the market.
