The Death of the Tower Nursing Home
After World War II the office building slash skyscraper becomes the model for hospitals. The atrium hospital just takes off in the 1980s with the onset of what we call patient centered care. We've done away with completely round rooms now but the general idea of round rooms being easier to keep clean has persisted.
