The Importance of Distance in Paradise

I prefer to use another type of narrator that goes inside the characters who can let us feel what the character feels, and for me it's the only way I found interesting to talk about these characters. In Paradise I really wanted to be really close to Polo because in fact this novel is about the mental trip of this young person who just did something horrible. The language is sometimes close to Polo sometimes it uses words that Polo will never use himself to describe his reality but I needed to create a distance with the language too. What I really want to show in Paradise is that sometimes violence is not only the product of misery, of poverty sometimes or of this moral indigency that doesn't have anything
