The Importance of Gender Identity in India

A large majority of Indians are also completely indifferent to this whole thing, but their motivations could be very different. But if you really think about it, the way they are pushing this will affect deeply the most marginalized communities of India. The Dalit community is considered to be at the bottom most rung of the caste-based hierarchy. If there is a woman there, and if she were to live a life where she was not burdened by sexual harassment, why would she want to be a women?
