The data pointed towards an enormous problem. The stars couldn't just be moving that fast on their own. And there had to be a source for all that extra gravity, which might mean... There's a shit ton of matter out at the edge of the galaxies that is tugging those stars along. But even when scientists looked through the most advanced telescopes, no one could see any of it.
