The History of Bermuda
In 16 12, they sent 60 families over to bermuda. They were able to more or less survive and begin subsisting on those islands. And soon they had some success in growing tobacco. But as often happens, this didn't last for very long. As virginia and maryland produced more, the prices dropped and tobacco became less profitable. So bermuda fairly quickly transitioned to becoming a sea base,. really focused on the industries of shipping, shipbuilding and repairing. The first of these colonies was created in 16 23 on the island of saint christopher which is now commonly called saint kit's for short. That was followed four years later by another colony on barbadoes
