He says these technologies had been sold to horrific regimes authoritarian regimes who were using them to persecute journalists and human rights defenders so it was thanks to Wikileaks for exposing this practice. In his new book, he details a case where Saudi officials considered killing Jamal Khashoggi as part of their plan to spy on him.
