Defense Production Act - What Was It?
The defense production act was enacted in september ninete 50, after the north karean people's army invaded south carea earlier in june. The d p a was modelled on the war powers acts of 19 forty one and 19 forty two during world war two. President harry truman used it to help supply domestic production of steel, heavy industry, machine tools,. electronics and avionics for a massive military expansion.
