Mendelssohn Bartoli's sunflowers was insured for just over £10,000. It was auctioned on behalf of the Beattie family by Christie's in 1987. The claimants are arguing that it was a forced sale as Jews were being persecuted. But we don't know how much they paid - and this lawsuit is seeking $250 million.
