Introduction
If there were any justice in this world, most major philosophical problems would be named after platonic dialogues. The Euthofro dilemma takes its name from a dialogue of the same name where Socrates asks a man to define piety. Does God determine what is moral? Some say yes, holding that if God is dead, everything is permitted. But does God really make it a good thing to murder the innocent or a bad thing to offer help to suffering children?
