Introduction

This week on the Lectures in History podcast, a discussion about West Virginia Statehood. We left off last time looking at the Virginia Succession Convention when delegates decided to pull Virginia out of the Union in April of 1861. At what's known as the first of several Wheeling conventions, this is the meetings that will create the current state we are residing in.
