The Importance of Meditation

I think that the doctrine has a bedded cruelty. I can't tell you how many Thomas I know who defend it because Thomas can do no wrong. There are just two basic questions in those early chapters before the four meditations. The first is, can the God who either imposes or permits a state of perpetual conscious torment for rational creatures really be not merely good, but the good in itself? Second, could finite creatures possess of real freedom? And that's dealt with in meditation four.
