Baqmut, the Ukrainian Strong Point, the Place of Safety
The Russians have continued to push in Donetsk region while all this is going on in Kharkiv and herson. Baqmut was the Ukrainian strong point, the kind of behind-the-line city, which was the place of safety. It's interesting because back in May, June, if you remember that huge enormous battle for Donbas when Vladimir Putin put in his huge effort to bite off Luhansk and Donetsk region. With that immense, horrendous artillery back-defensive, it just ground down to several of Donetsk.
