How to Teach a Graphic Novel Course

In one of your syllabus's for a graphic novel course I'd like to talk a little bit about teaching in it you assign Jean Lewin Yang's American born Chinese and Gerber's Howard the Duck alongside texts like Art Spiegelman's Mouse. Do students find it harder to rigorously analyze a mainstream Marvel comic from the 70s, or do they find it hard to discover enjoyment in the less mainstream kind of art comics? Oh, well, they're large classes a bit of both but some of the art comics really just challenged them too much Like I always insist on doing Jimmy Corrigan's Why Is Kid on Earth  and it goes over like a lead Lewin most of them
