The Uniqueness of the Declaration of Independence
The preamble does not really say we are having a hard time reconciling the behavior of Parliament and the King with what has been our experience in the past. There's no reference to English common law at all in the Declaration of Independence. So there's the yes, there's where it's different from a lot of these other declarations. The preamble is a remarkably philosophical statement.
