Is Information Conserved?
Amitai Agrawal wanted to be a writer, but his mother said no way. So he went off to do his PhD at IIT Delhi and started working on information theory. In the 1980s Richard Feynman wrote a paper in International General of Theoretical Physics which suggested that one way to study physical systems would be to emulate them on a quantum computer. And so it's not that I was looking for CS doing CS by itself. I've been driven more by theory or theoretical questions related to what is information. He also came up with a new protocol for cryptography, which is a true quantum communication protocol.
