Molly webster's new series explores the history of how we understand sex. She talks to scientists who helped decide that x and y are what decides our sex. The two little chromosomes had acquired more than ten different names when they were first discovered. They ended up getting sex chromosome, but in the hundred year history since then you can see it start to get a little complicated.
