The Method of Doubt
We have to be in order to be thinking. I think therefore i am, Descarte says. We shouldn't apply this method of doubt to all our beliefs - it's pointless and impractical. But we should hold them up to the most intense sceptical scrutiny. Tha descart outlines what would really happen if he put his racest viewpoints under a microscope. What if the sky was forced to ask himself, is it possible?
