Plunkish arithmetic is a way of taking arithmetic that you want to express of the vectors. You can do this really efficiently with a permutation argument. Longer-shyred representation is a very efficient way of converting that into arithmetic over polynomials. It's kind of taken hold of it because it's very expressible and customizable as in you can, well, back in 2019 I was talking about the side of custom gates where basically instead of doing additions and multiplications, you can do weird funky custom arithmetic.
