"Whatever happened in the Catholic church with the Second Vatican Council had a very destructive power on the rank and file members who just had to go someplace where they could find Christ again," he says. "To all of a sudden, this sort of radical reorientation where you've got people like dancing at church and guitars at church and the priest is leaving the priesthood and running off with Sister Jane ... it's really wacky."
