The Importance of Housing in the United States
Fannie Mae pegged this at 1.62 million households per year. The last time we supplied that many new homes or what we referred to as household formations was in 2007. We stand the chance of oversupplying several markets in the coming years, but it has been predicted that we won't actually reach a point of catching up until 2030.
