Clara's Disappointment
Heidi woke up the next morning in a spacious room. The windows were too high for her to see anything except walls and windows opposite. Miss Rothenmayer was very much excited about Heidi's coming, having arranged everything herself. A black stream of ink flowed across the length of the room. Everything drenched with ink did such a thing ever happen before. This child brings nothing but misfortunes on us. While she considered many problems, a frightful noise as if something falling was heard in an adjoining room,. followed by a cry to Sebastian for help.
