How to Drive Subscriptions in the Post-Trump Era

When he was at the New Yorker, it was unquestionably the case that the thing that drove subscriptions was getting people to read across the publication. But now people are more driven by subscribers and subscribers often love outrage. So if you believe that, then your goal isn't to drive people into narrower and narrower political channels, it's to broaden it. It seemed as though publications that went hardest on politics had the most success driving subscriptions during the Trump years.
