Is There a Big Issue When You Have a Tort Case?
The lawsuit is against Google, the owner of YouTube. The claim is that YouTube violated the anti-terrorism acts ban on aiding and abetting terrorism when it pushed these videos through its algorithms to people who ultimately committed apps. It implicates section 230, which doesn't allow liability against a company for other people's content. This really is just about whether these sorts of claims can be brought, not about whether they would ultimately succeed.
