The Importance of Need in the Apple Watch

The Apple Watch does sell itself as a useful item, so I think it's a fair question to ask. It's just a different type of need, I think. Want is slightly the wrong word too for me because if you gave me one for Christmas, I'd say thank you and I'd maybe wear it occasionally but nowhere near enough to pay for one. We need a word between need and want.
