What Happened to Caesar in the Civil War?

The Roman war between Caesar and Pompey began in italy. Both armies were trying to cut off each other's supply lines. But after a few days, the soldiers on both sides get bored and start to wander into each other's camps. This was excellent psychological warfare as caesar made himself seem like a statesman rather than a rebel. He disbands the opposing army and many of the soldiers decide to join him.
