Do You Fund Your Research With Grants?
In the 1980s and 1990s, you couldn't get funding to do theoretical work in neuroscience. And so I decided that I'd have to take a different approach. We're in a very unique position in how we go about it. neuroscientists have told me they wish they were in a similar position because we can pursue the research we want to pursue independent of what is fashionable in terms of grants at the moment.
