LZ Granderson: One of the reasons we like control and do so much to avoid surrendering control is when we're not in control, the felt experience is vulnerability. He says poverty leads us to this place of vulnerability where he can actually care for us. LZ: We spend a ton of time and energy just just kind of having a really firm, firm grip on things. But there's also a time where it's got to renounce those walls around ourselves because that means I can get hurt again.
