In the book, you've got both in the grand narrative and the weeds. And how does one balance that? Because there is always a danger of being too abstract at one level. But there is also a danger of getting too much in the weeds and getting too concrete. Is my audience going to really care about the unsubstantiated opinions and hypotheses of a 31 year old? I don't think so. What I believe the audience that I'm writing for wants to see is what's in it for me. How does this affect my day to day life? Why should I care?
