A lot of those monster, universal monster films from the 30s and 40s fall into that. I wonder, though, about contemporary,. I don't watch it, but contemporary horror films, if they have the same, do they sentimentalize the monster? It's funny that people don't talk about them as phantasmatic figures, right? Because that seems like, obviously, what they are.
