The Clean Water Act Exempts Nearly All of Agriculture
Waters of the United States has been a Republican talking point since Obama administration and probably long before. The Clean Water Act exempts nearly all of agriculture from regulation, says National Park Service's John Defterios. Republicans claim that regulating any sort of effluent from farms was going to shut down family farms. But what we're really talking about is effluent from CAFOs and large industrial agricultural operations.
