The Sleeping Bag
Singer and his fellow climbers have been allowed to stop and rest on a hillside, overlooking two rivers down below. The moon is high, glowing from behind the clouds. Singer feels a weird twinge of guilt for using the sleeping bag. It once belonged to turat acurgus soldier who was taken captive the same day they were kidnapped. Abdulla left the group days ago to find food and never returned. Abdul repeats his friend's name desperately, almost like a sort of prayer.
