David: I was always neck and neck, working my way up through high school and being the best at everything. He says he would hold his trumpet for probably upwards to nine hours a day, you know, every day. When he was about 20, he went through a bit of what he call a secular conversion where he realized that his life was a mess. David: And then a couple, no joke, a couple months later, I went down to a music festival and this was really the moment of conversion for me.
