You should consult your doctor if you are about to fast. It is most helpful for people we know that are in prediabetic states and need to a change their metabolism to a more favorable state. Randomly starting fasting without any support from a dietitian, i probably wouldn't advocate it because i think it's very difficult to know what effect it will have.
