Moral: Why do we nod at each other in public spaces, especially people with whom we might share some affinity? Moral: It's theorized by many to be a form of dealing with the problem of sharing physical space with strangers. The tipping behavior is all a way of dealing with presence of strangers without having to like engage in conversations and make them not strangers anymore.
