Were There Multiple Wives?
We don't know to what degree those relationships were always sexual, because there was a practice among dakota people sometimes a man marrying his wife's sisters say if their husbands were killed or they needed taken care of. But we do know that it was possible for men to have multiple wives. And many indigenous peoples across the americas have these multiple gender rolls, riht and also engaged in what we would to day consider same sex practices. So when you live in a world like that, the couple is just not that import an. I think that has been placed too much at the centre of what we consider a good and workable family now,. i find that really unsustainable.
