I quit my job and I joined my partner who's a sociologist and he was doing field work in Rajasthan. My father said you resigned a permanent job he was so outraged that the fact that I had taken up history. The civil service is the only thing that gave you a pensionable job excuse me it's very important for anyone living through uncertain times, she says.
