The Debt of Anna Delvey
Anna Delvey was staying at a luxury hotel in Marrakesh, Morocco. She owed $30,000 to the hotel and promised that it would be settled. Days went past but no funds appeared so she was locked out of her room. Her friends realised they had to pay for things on Anna's behalf. The police were soon after her as she deposited fake checks into different banks. In October 2013 she was arrested while trying to enter an addiction treatment facility. It turned out she wasn't who she said she was - not even Russian.
