Storage and Retrieval Strength of Memories

When you talk about cramming, what actual happens is that somebody's high in retrievl strength and low in storage strength. They're not rusty, but they don't actually have a very high level of proficiency. But the fact that they've learned it really recently, its very fresh in their mind,. means that they can pass the exam. What happens afterwards is that, say, i've forgotten everything, which basically means they can't retrieve anything. Because they never built it up - because all they dis a cram at the very end to essentially parrot it back. So they're just using the freshness of something they've just been told to essentially parrots it back. This
