The Immutable Character of God

This is the bridge between the promised judgment of verse 5 and the promised mercy we're going to go to in a little bit. This is a verse that could very easily be translated in two different ways. God's unchanging character is the guarantee both of his justice and of the mercy we need. So you may wake up one day this week and doubt the justice of God. But my friends, what this truth tells us is that his justice and his mercy are the same on that day as they were the day he raised Jesus from the dead.
