Is There Consensus in a Democracy?
People have this idea that its very important to have consensus inside a democracy. A compromise, by definition, is something that nobody believes is a good idea. So it impedes the removal of bad policies and bad leaders. Politicians tend to love it, because politicians are always trying to evade responsibility for when their ideas go wrong.
